Hope is easy to wish for, and harder to practice. Hope, I believe, asks us to look past the obstacles of the current week, the current school season, and act as if tomorrow is worth preparing for and taking action for – a better tomorrow.
This is my placeholder essay for my Hope project — a collection of essays that will grow alongside a book that is still becoming as I figure out what hope really is, how it serves us as educators, and how it can also disappoint us.
The essays I write in this collection are unfinished in a lot of ways, and will share my questions, my stories, and invitations for you – the readers – to help me shape this next book I plan and hope to write. Your thoughts will shape my thinking as well.
If you are visiting my website early: welcome! The hope porch light is on, and your stories and insights will be part of what this project becomes. Thanks for stopping by!
If you have a moment, write about what you believe hope is.
Use the space below to submit your comments. Thanks!
